I am an artist who loves to cook. When I married eleven years ago and started a family, I found painting almost an unobtainable task. Not enough time in the day or alone time to achieve my goals. Cooking became my creative outlet.
My sister moved to Georgia a few years ago. I was thrilled to be near her again (it had been 10 years). She opened up a shop called 'The Other Side of the Moon' in Newnan, GA. It is one of the coolest stores I have ever seen! She has done an amazing job of creating a life style environment for her customers.
Our first Thanksgiving together after her move was a very exciting time. My mother had started a tradition of roasting pecans for the holiday. I had tasted the rosemary nuts at a party many years prior and decided to give them a whirl for this festive reunion. I put my spin on the nuts and took them to the gathering.
Well, my sister could not stop eating them and thru her bites she asked if we could put them in her shop. I said sure, not knowing what this was going to do to my world! The nuts kept selling and selling. The news was spreading and I was getting more orders. The nuts put me in business!
I had to find packaging and luckily my husband and I are friends with a very smart man who creates boxes for a living. He convinced me not only how much packaging matters, but I certainly had the talent to create a box for my nuts. I painted all weekend while my children were with my sister. It was a blast! I loved my boxes and found everyone else did too.
I have had so many wonderful people placed before me assuring me I could maintain this business and their generosity has propelled me to where I am today. Where I cook the nuts, in my beautiful certified kitchen, my wonderful vendors and of course all the Nutty Girl fans have steadily driven this girl to a wonderful destination......to be the Nutty Girl.
Thank you for visiting my site and reading my story. I hope you enjoy the nuts!
